Invitation Side Event CSW 70: Access to justice in cases of digital violence. Countering the manosphere

Digital spaces have become central to our way of life but are also used to spread hate and misogyny. One example of this is the manosphere, which promotes toxic masculinity, opposes gender equality, and contributes to the normalization of violence (online and offline) and radicalization. The legal approaches to addressing such phenomena, as well as access to legal remedies, differ across jurisdictions worldwide. And even if legal frameworks exist, often gaps remain—especially regarding digital forms of gender-based violence. Join us for a discussion on how safe digital spaces can be created through coordinated societal efforts: legal and policy approaches as well as initiatives like HeForShe, changing narratives around masculinities, and prevention strategies.
