Effective prosecution is a critical pillar of prevention and deterrence of conflict-related sexual violence. Key to the fight against impunity regarding conflict-related sexual and gender based violence is to adopt a holistic and survivor-centered concept of justice both in national and universal jurisdiction. How can accountability as a central pillar of precention become more effective? What are challenges of prosecuting perpetrators of conflict-related sexual violence?
