Invitation - Side Event CSW 69
Close the gaps! Driving change for women‘s rights in the labor market
Objective
30 years after the implementation of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action, gender equality – also in the labor market – remains an unfulfilled promise. Women worldwide continue to face structural barriers – unequal pay, limited career opportunities, the burden of unpaidcare work, to name only a few. How can we create more equitable societies in which women and girls in all their diversity can develop their full potential? Join us for a discussion on women’s rights in the world of work and the role of the UN, governments, jurisprudence, civil society, and trade unions in shaping an inclusive labor market. With perspectives from the Global South and Global North, we will explore solutions, best practices, and necessary alliances for a just and equitable future.
